Letting Pictures Do the Talking

Photos from the past few weeks, captured through my phone. Somehow, my owning a camera phone has turned me into a lazy photographer. I don't bother bringing out my camera anymore, even for the food shots I used to take.

In no particular order:There was a fire alert beside the resto about two weeks ago. Two fire trucks came rushing to the apartment beside us. They used the fire hydrant on the corner and could not shut it off after they used it. It took them about 20 minutes to shut the water off during which gallons upon gallons of water flooded 7th avenue.
There were about 20 firemen standing around watching one man attempt to shut off the hydrant.

Kona Mocha in the comfort of my own home.

The morning after 4th of July I opened my curtains to find an ambulance and cops across the street below. There was a Police Line Do Not Cross tape around this particular space. I'm not quite sure what happened but based on the facts [1.) police line tapes indicate death or a crime 2.) ambulance means something happened to someone] I figured someone was found dead across the street. May have been a homeless man who slept and never woke up, or at least I'd like to think so.

Went to Ikea the Sunday after July 4th despite my morbid hangover and bought new sheets, a new plant and new wall art. It's my room's summer make-over.
One of my lunches during my day off. Pan-grilled chicken breast in rosemary and thyme with grilled veggies and mixed greens topped with crumbled herbed feta. I tried to replicate Jad's dressing (shallots + onions + salt/pepper + balsamic vinegarrette) but I prefer my usual balsamic vinegarette + honey combo.
I'm making nobody's mouth water here except myself. People who read this who like green mangoes with bagoong have better access to it in Manila. I dug through the bottom of the mango barrel in the corner fruit stand to find the hardest one I could find and scraped what's left of the bagoong in the fridge.

Bakit pa ako babalik ng pinas?

Eh ang saya saya ko na dito.

Angel and I woke up and headed out to The Museum of Natural History where I became like Ross Geller and went gaga over dinosaur fossils. It was my first time ever to see for myself how big these things were and they were GINORMOUS. I LOVED IT!

Her camera seemed to love my pretty face since no matter how much she tried taking our photo, the frame kept cutting her off.

We surprised Rann at work and had a very late lunch nearby. We were walking to Union Square to go to the center when I remembered that Addiction NYC was near Rann's place of work and I asked if we could pass by so I could inquire. The tattoo place was recommended by Baby's boyfriend JP. I walked in and was directed to a guy named Adal who was patient with me in discussing what I wanted. I knew I wanted stars behind my ear and he took the time to discuss size, design and color with me. I was so excited that I decided to have it done right then. The inking process took about 10 minutes. Planning the tattoo took a much longer time.

Angel and I went to DSW, Forever 21 and Shoemania before dinner in Saigon Grill. When we got home, I was greeted by my package from Amazon.com...

YEAH BABY!!!
Who needs Bona when I can have Bona right here!!!

I've been wanting to buy the packets for a while but I didn't know how to make the drinks even with the ingredients. Luckily, Bona's best ex-barista ever (naks, sino kaya yon?) taught me exactly how to make it and I made one of each flavor tonight and Angel loved it! I wanted to cry with joy and was chugging down the remaining slush right out of the blender.

I'm trying to convince Angel to relocate to NYC. She's heading back to Virginia next week. If she stays then GREAT! We ended the day with a couple of bottles of Smirnoff Ice. Just enough to knock me out for the night. Yahew! I love my new tattoo!!!

Saw Kung Fu Panda last night and it was hilarious! Plus added laughs when we all realized the panda looked like Dex.

Dinner at Cafe Med + movie + Bona Westgate + Jeek's

It's 4:20pm and I'm only about to shower to head back out to ATC for the 3rd consecutive day this week. This time with my mom and sister since Kim wants to check out the other shoes on sale. She loved the pumps I bought and wants one for herself. Gaya-gaya!

Kahapon at Kanina

Tarot lessons with Madame Jammi. This was in Bona BF after she and Matthew treated me to dinner in Aveneto. Thanks guys!

Grace(ylou Freebush, haha) treated me to a North Park dindin earlier this evening with sila Bea. Yumyum lemon chicken! Went to Bona in Alabang since sila Bea hasn't been there.

I have to wake up in 5 hours for my very first video job! I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I'm serving as second cam to Paul S. for this engagement party tomorrow morning. I just downed a sleeping pill that's slowly kicking in so I can sleep soon. Woohoo!
